2012 has arrived, a new year, a new start.  A time for renewed focus, stepping back and looking at the world from a different perspective.  It’s this time of the year that we get the chance to stop and take a deep breath, now that all the festivity, planning and ‘organised’ chaos is over.

In the quiet after the storm, we are often forced to slow down and take stock of things, evaluate things as such. So with another year behind us and in the last days of the holidays before heading off back to the mainstream, the hustle & bustle of the city and the pressures of everyday life in which we get entangled in so easily, what have we learned from it? What have we discovered to take forth into 2012 with us?

Maybe it’s that life is not a race, but a journey that we are in control of, considering we are about to do it all over again for yet another year.  Or that we should be grateful for what we actually have around us, be really thankful now, today, and not to waist another second on envious and resentful thoughts about what we don’t have or our woes in life.  Or even that we should forgive and let go of the things that do not really matter in the ‘bigger picture’ of life.

Whatever the lessons were we have learned throughout the past 12 months one thing always seemed to stand out.  We need to consider and decide if our past actions have resulted in a ‘positive place’ or not and if at the end of 2012 do we want to be at the same ‘place’ as in 2011.

Now for some that might be a positive prospect and you are considering how you can work towards yet another successful year, however for some of us it might have been a time of anguish, distress, heartache, loss and the list goes on, For those whom had suffered any ill-fate or had a ‘tough’ going year, be assured that situations can change, nothing, nothing lasts forever…

Although some might think my statement is cynical or a discouraging thought and yes it also means good things we hold dear to our hearts, however, the point is that everything evolves, changes and expires around us all the time, nature, people, situations.

Even bad situation has to come to an end, and the faster you can realise that you are in control of your destiny, that you can make the change to have a better result and that is working towards a better 2012.  You see, we all have to accept that the results we currently have are due to the decisions we have made up to now.  And as unvarnished and frank as it might sound, we have attracted every situation we currently find ourselves in.

I don’t mean to sound disrespectful to or without empathy for those whom had lost love ones, but look around you… The situations we find ourselves in are created by the choices we make and why we make certain decisions.   It all comes down to one thing: What are we thinking about most often, the things we don’t want, the situations we don’t want ourselves to be in, debt, anger, frustrations, fear.  These are all negative feelings and will only result in the same energy coming back to you.

Look at the people around you, the house you live in, the job you have, the debts you have, the fortunes you have…..  These are all things we have around us because we brought them –or- thought them into our lives.  This is not just a theory, there is a law, just as the law of gravity dictates that if you jump of a building, you will hit the ground, regardless if you are a good person or not, so is there a law of attraction.

Regardless of what you are, where you find yourself or where you have been, one thing is certain…  The law of attraction works every second for everyone for everything, every thought, every emotion. The feeling’s  that you have, you send out and in return you are gifted with more of that, thus, the more you dwell on negativity, loss, dread, ill-fate, ill health, anger….. and on and on, the more of THIS you will end up having in your life.

So, as a result of realising where I am today is primarily because of my daily thoughts and feelings, emotions and decisions, I have to stand back one step and say to myself…   Where to from here, how do I use this to my advantage?  Having this knowledge empowers me to focus on and actuate what I want in life.

It’s not just a way of thinking; it is perpetuating these ideas on a daily basis. Not as a chore but as motivation and inspiration, the idea of being grateful for what you have already, having an image of what you want to have and achieve, feeling that feeling of having it already, everyday.

I hear many asking the familiar question of ‘how’….  Part of this law of attraction proves that the how is fortunately not for us to deliberate or dwell on, the ‘how’ is the part of the universe of the energy you sent out which returns what you desire.  The Power greater than us, (Label it what you want) knows the shortest and most harmonious way to your goal and therefore you leave that part of your vision to the Power that be.   Keep that ‘feeling’ of having it already and dwell only and only on the end result, this is your job.

You need to know and feel that your dreams will become reality once you realise your thoughts and feelings are what you are attracting. Remember it’s what you think, feel and acknowledge that will become…
